Snow Report April, 1st, 2023
10 am update:
Hope you all caught the joke! What isn’t a joke is the rain is done and the sun is out! It shaping up to be a great afternoon here at the Face. Most trails are showing spring conditions on the report with some loose granular mixed in.
6 am update:
So, we have been getting some complaints that the Slides aren’t open enough, or when they are open, conditions aren’t easier, and we want to let you know, we hear you, and agree. That is why starting today, Slide 1 and Slide 2 will be groomed. If you wish to continue onto the other Slides, you will still need a helmet, a buddy, and avalanche gear, but the first two Slides will be open to the public. We are excited about this improvement and hope you are too!
We anticipate opening with 9 lifts and 78 trails on loose granular and variable conditions. Spring has definitely sprung here at Whiteface… more like sprung a leak am I right? We were lucky enough to get a few inches of snow last night before mother nature turned her snow guns off and unfortunately, turned the sprinklers on. We are going to see some wet stuff early on, but the good news is that the rain will clear up and give way to the sun by 10ish making for a great day for skiing and riding.
Our annual “Apple Butter open” that was slated for this morning is getting postponed to April 15th! Same great competition, just a new date. Everything else for today, including drink specials by Nutrl Seltzer and live music by Scott Sileo are all still happening at The Cloudspin Bar & Grill.
We also have 3 different tryouts available! If you have always wanted to be a Patroller, an Instructor, or a Mountain Host, now is your chance! Join us today, from 10 am- 3 pm, and shadow along with some of our best patrollers, instructors, and hosts to see if you would be a good fit for next season! Keep in mind this position is for advanced skiers and riders only!
Want to ski for the rest of this season for free (and there is still quite a bit of season left!)? Well, new 2023/24 season pass holders can do just that! With the purchase of next year’s Season Pass, ski or ride the rest of this year on us! Also, with only 25% down you can get on the mountain now with our free payment plan.
