Fall is here at Whiteface!

Whiteface Veterans’ Memorial Highway: Open Daily 8:45am – 5:30pm

For those who prefer the open road, the Whiteface Veterans’ Memorial Highway offers a historic eight-mile drive to the summit of New York’s fifth-highest peak, where visitors can explore a castle built of local stone, grab a bite at the 4610′ Grill food truck, and take in a 360-degree panoramic view of the Adirondacks stretching into Vermont and Canada. The summit is accessible via a stone staircase hike or a historic elevator carved directly into the mountain. Whether you drive, ride, or hike, the views from the top are simply unforgettable.

Cloudsplitter Gondola, Hiking, and Yoga on the Mountain: Open Friday – Sunday*

The signature summer experience is the Cloudsplitter Gondola, an eight-passenger cabin that glides from the base lodge to the summit of Little Whiteface in about 15 minutes, offering sweeping views of the High Peaks, Lake Placid, and on clear days, as far as Vermont and Canada. At the top, visitors will find an observation deck and picnic area, as well as one-hour yoga sessions for ages ten and older that include the gondola ride up. It’s a one-of-a-kind way to experience the mountain in a whole new season. Dining options include the Legends Cafe on the second floor of the the Base Lodge and the 4610′ Cafe at the top of the Veterans’ Memorial Highway. With a full calendar of summer events, from sports exhibitions to fall festivals, there’s truly always something happening at Whiteface and the surrounding Lake Placid Olympic Sites.

Oktoberfest: September 26 & 27

Each fall we dust off our lederhosen, fire up the oompah band and enjoy a tall mug of German beer at the Whiteface Mountain Oktoberfest. Mark your calendars for the weekend-long, Bavarian-style celebration with authentic music, dancing, food and beer—rated one of the 5 Must-Visit Oktoberfests in North America by SKI Magazine! Featuring music by headliners die Schlauberger. This is a family-friendly event with activities for all ages including craft vendors, pumpkin painting, kids entertainment, bounce houses, scenic gondola rides, and more!

WHOOP UCI Mountain Biking World Series: October 2- 4

Get ready for another epic 3-day weekend of DOWNHILL at WHITEFACE and CROSS-COUNTRY at MT VAN HOEVENBERG—featuring all-out, heart-pounding, pedal-pumping action and festivities you’ll never forget… and this time, it’s the final stop of the series, so the stakes will be higher as titles are decided, and champions are crowned!
